hiking in Oregon

A fun thing to do that I really enjoy is Hiking. I live in Portland Oregon so I’m only about one hour from the coastal range. I recently bought a GPS which I still haven’t used out in the field. I still need to find maps to download that are made for hiking. I know you can buy some maps for atv riding for the GPS. I still would love to buy a ATV but I don’t really have the extra funds to spend on toys right now. The other weekend I headed to the beach on highway 6. I thought about stopping by one of my favorite hiking rails on the way to the beach. I slowed down near the turn off and noticed the parking lot was slammed with no parking. I decided not to hike this day. I didn’t plan on it anyways. My usual routine when I do go hiking is to buy a subway sandwich and a couple bottles of water. I also buy healthy snack bars. I burn a great amount of calories and want to eat good when getting this much exercise. I don’t want to eat cheese burgers then try and go hiking. When you eat the right high protein bars you get plenty of energy from them. Also I get better digestion from eating them versus my general foods. I really need to change my eating habits. For the most part I stay away from fast food but the companies make it so easy to drive up and grab food on the go. When you do go shopping for food for your outdoor activities make sure you have aall natural energy bar. You don’t want to be eating snickers bars filled with sugar. Thats pointless. You want to make sure its good for your health. The sugar in candy and soda turns to fat. If your looking for a way to lose fat I would suggest looking into hiking as a fun activity. Its not expensive and anyone can do it.
