I have thought of doing different business at different times in my life. About a year or two years ago I use to work security. I hated that job and had the worst hours in my life. I worked three different shifts all rotating. Man this schedule sucked. I needed the money so had to take the job. It happen to be at a site that I filled in for a week in the past. Not the safest place with the different chemical rooms. I started selling products on ebay during my off time. I didn’t make much money but some extra money. After a while it just seemed like the profit wasn’t there which it barely was. Basically not much for the work.

At my security job I got to getting into short conversations with the janitors. He owned a franchise Janitorial company. I even met with the franchise and got the Franchise offering book. Legally they can’t try and sell you on the spot and get you to sign papers. Franchises sorta have a bad rap and they try and protect the consumer. In the end I decided not to go through with it. The price was about 15,000 to buy 3500 a month in contracts. After fees you make about 3k a month. Much better then I was making but there are drawbacks. I didn’t know how many hours you would be working. If you lose the contract they might not re emburse you. I think the first year you can buy a protection plan for more money a month. I asked my dads tax guy who I use if its a good idea. He told me he does taxes for a guy who does this. I asked is it basically buying a job he said thats exactly what it is. So it probably comes out to like 15/hr if your lucky. So your spending around 15k to make 15.00hr. Plus you can’t deduct the expenses in one year. You have to deduct it over like a 15 or 30 year period. I forget which one it is. I was like crap I doubt I’m doing this.
I saved up money working my security job then slowly spent it. I saved up money from my internet business which hasn’t done that great lately. I wouldn’t mind it if I could deduct the 15k off from my income. Sorta a incentive to do it. It’s still a idea I have if I can’t find a good paying job.
